The work carried out by nurses as part of the health care team in a variety of contexts (hospital, health center, home or other) requires the development of the following skills:
- Mobilizing resources (material, human, time, and knowledge) and deciding on their rational use to respond to the needs of children and adolescents, their families and communities and other organizations;
- Analyzing a situation to exercise clinical judgment, designing a care plan, focusing on the needs and health projects of children and adolescents, families, and communities to achieve care-sensitive outcomes.
- Interacting in accordance with the different roles, respecting and being respected, in order to establish bonds of trust within the health care team that includes the child and adolescent and their family;
- Providing autonomous and/or prescribed care aimed at helping the child and young person, their family, and the community to meet their needs and live through the transition processes, taking into account the three levels of prevention.
The aim of this structuring project is to find the best evidence for the improvement, development, and management of care techniques and the mastery of nursing skills to care for children, young people, and their families in accordance with the quality of care standards defined by the OE1.
In this way, we can create the conditions to guarantee safe, effective, and efficient care in pursuit of the quality of life desired by the people we care for.
