Background: Rehabilitation nursing is a specialized field focused on helping individuals of all ages achieve, maintain, or regain optimum health and quality of life. This includes managing a wide range of conditions from chronic illnesses to acute health episodes across the lifespan. Despite the critical role of evidenceinformed practices (EIPs) in enhancing healthcare outcomes by integrating the best research evidence with clinical expertise and patient values, several challenges hinder their widespread implementation. These include limited awareness among healthcare professionals, inadequate training, and a scarcity of highquality research tailored to rehabilitation nursing needs. Objective: To explore and evaluate rehabilitation nursing practices, to enhance healthcare outcomes and process efficiencies through evidence-informed strategies, including innovative interventions in approaching the person, family and community. Methods: This research will evaluate current rehabilitation nursing practices, focusing on the implementation of EIPs and the exploration of innovative interventions like telehealth, mobile health applications, and interdisciplinary approaches. The project will involve collecting data from various rehabilitation settings, analyzing the effectiveness of different interventions, and assessing their impact on patient care. Expected Outcomes: InnovRehab is expected to foster a symbiotic relationship between academic research and clinical practice, promoting a dynamic exchange of ideas and solutions that address real-world challenges.
By emphasizing innovative, evidence-based approaches, the project will likely lead to more effective, efficient, and inclusive rehabilitation nursing practices. Outcomes of this research may include enhanced care strategies, better patient outcomes, and recommendations for policy changes. Impact: Given the global demand for effective rehabilitation services, InnovRehab is poised to make significant contributions to the field. The project's findings could inform best practices, guide policy development, and ultimately improve the quality of care for beneficiaries of rehabilitation nursing, thus fulfilling an essential need in contemporary healthcare.
